this is the miscellaneous work page.

since my background is in documentary photography, screenwriting, film & art direction, i tend to move between disciplines. but the core stays the same: visually driven stories, humor laced with darkness, and narratives that trust the audience.

i mean, there’s a lot that doesn’t make it onto my main site, or even see the light of day —a photography archive, a strange poetry project told by an unreliable narrator, folders full of short stories and scripts, and various ipad drawings.

this is an attempt to give some of those things a little light.

back in 2009 i was just a kid — but i studied photography at london college of communication and i had a great time.

my narrative work is mostly grounded in reality but often tilts slightly off-center—mixing intimacy with detachment, sometimes absurd, sometimes unsettling. i’m drawn to human behavior in all its contradictions, finding humor in tension and unease in the ordinary. here are two shorts that have done well internationally. right now, i’m developing runyoka, a short about a couple who become physically stuck together during an affair. i’ve also finished the first drafts of ray of sunshine, a feature about a kids’ tv host whose relationship with her hand puppet takes a disturbing turn.
